This project transformed an existing screened porch into a four-season living space by replacing screens with insulated, tempered glass windows and a full-view entry door system. The result is a brighter, more comfortable space designed for extended seasonal use while maintaining clean exterior aesthetics.

The Process

With all necessary permits secured and all HOA hoops properly leapt through, our crew was ready to get started in New Albany. The first step in building this sunroom was to remove and dispose of the existing screens and screen door.

Installation included six double-hung windows featuring a clean white / white finish and double-pane insulated glass for improved comfort and efficiency. We equipped each window with full screens, no grids (for unobstructed views), cam locks, and tilt sashes that allow for easy cleaning and everyday usability.

We also installed six fixed picture windows as a glass knee wall system. This set up delivers durability, safety, and increased natural light while maintaining a low visual profile. The picture windows all feature double-pane insulated glass, and we installed a fixed picture window transom above the entry door to encourage more daylight and visual openness within the space.

To meet safety and building code requirements, all knee wall glazing was tempered, along with the double-hung window adjacent to the door and the entry door glazing. These specifications ensure compliance while delivering peace of mind in a high-use living area.

Our crew completed the project by installing one full-view glass entry door in a matching White / White finish. The door is designed to maximize exterior views and daylight while providing a clean, finished transition into the updated space.
