Patio in Worthington (August 2025)

This project enhances the backyard by introducing a fully integrated covered patio roof, transforming an open concrete slab into a comfortable, all-weather outdoor living space. The new 16'7" x 16'4" shed-style roof structure creates a defined extension of the home, offering protection from the elements while maintaining an open, airy feel.

The structure is supported by newly installed cement pier footings positioned just beyond the existing slab, providing a stable foundation for the roof system. A wood-framed roof was constructed and insulated to an R-19 rating, improving temperature control and making the space usable across multiple seasons.

The ceiling is finished with a warm-toned wood look, adding contrast and visual interest against the clean white trim and soffit details. Integrated lighting includes four 4" white wafer lights for even illumination, along with a dedicated ceiling fan hookup to enhance airflow and comfort. A flood light adds additional exterior visibility, while a wall-mounted TV setup—with a dedicated outlet—turns the space into a functional outdoor entertainment area.

The exterior is completed with a cohesive palette: black roofing, white aluminum trim, white vinyl soffit in a basket weave style, and a 6" white gutter system for proper drainage. Structural elements are wrapped for a polished finish, including PVC beam trim and Westbury 6"x6" columns in a fine textured black, tying the design into the home’s existing aesthetic.
