This project transformed a Columbus backyard into a spacious, multi-level outdoor living area by replacing an existing deck structure with two fully integrated platforms and upgraded access points. The new layout expands usable space while introducing a clean, cohesive design that balances openness with intentional privacy.

The structure includes a 15' x 16' main deck and an additional 19' x 11' adjoining deck, both built on pressure-treated framing.

TimberTech Terrain/Terrain+ composite decking in Brown Oak was installed running parallel to the home, creating a warm, natural wood look with low-maintenance performance. The decking was secured using Concealoc hidden fasteners along with TopLoc/Cortex fastening systems, and finished with a continuous picture frame border that defines the perimeter and elevates the overall design.

Stair systems were rebuilt using TimberTech treads and finished with Azek white PVC risers and fascia for a crisp contrast against the darker decking. A DuraSpan vinyl apron in Blue Ridge completes the base of the structure, while a section of Westbury Tuscany aluminum railing provides safety along the lower rear stairs without obstructing views.

To enhance privacy without sacrificing light or airflow, six Hideaway Screen panels in a black branch-style design were installed along the deck perimeter, supported by seven deck-mounted posts. The result is a layered, modern outdoor space that offers both openness and seclusion, tailored for everyday use and entertaining.
