This 528-square-foot backyard transformation was designed to create a clean, modern outdoor living space with room to relax, entertain, and gather around the fire. Built from the ground up, the new deck offers generous square footage while maintaining a low, streamlined profile that complements the home’s architecture.
The structure begins with a fully engineered pressure-treated frame supported by cement pier footings, 4x6 posts, and reinforced beams. Stair stringers and apron bracing were carefully integrated to ensure long-term durability and stability.
To elevate the experience, a gas line was extended to accommodate a customer-provided firepit, accommodated by the new spacious deck surface. This thoughtful addition allows for effortless entertaining and year-round enjoyment without the need for propane tanks or temporary connections.
The deck surface features TimberTech Terrain/Terrain+ Series cap stock composite decking in Silver Maple, installed perpendicular to the home for a clean, contemporary look. The soft gray tones brighten the backyard while pairing beautifully with the home’s white siding and black railing. Picture-frame detailing adds a polished border around the perimeter, giving the deck a custom, finished appearance.
TimberTech stair treads in matching Silver Maple ensure visual continuity, while PVC white risers and fascia provide crisp contrast and a refined finish along the edges.
The underside of the deck is wrapped in TimberTech RMC StyleCrest vinyl apron in Onyx, giving the structure a clean, enclosed appearance from ground level.
For safety and style, Westbury Tuscany 36" tall powder-coated aluminum railing in Fine Textured Black was installed across all flat deck areas and down both sides of one set of stairs. The sleek black railing defines the space while maintaining open sightlines to the yard. Strategic areas, including the firepit bump-out and kitchen zone, were intentionally left without railing to preserve flow and functionality.
The result is a spacious, low-maintenance composite deck that blends comfort, clean design, and everyday usability; perfect for grilling, gathering, and enjoying outdoor living without the upkeep of traditional wood.
